2024-12-16

We are pleased to announce that issues 28 and 29 of the journal V!RUS are now available, with the theme "THE DIGITAL AND THE SOUTH: QUESTIONINGS", at its new address on the Journals Portal of the University of Sao Paulo.

V!28 presents eight articles and essays and the interview “Digital as a Collective Practice” with Professor Gabriela Celani from the School of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urbanism at the State University of Campinas, UNICAMP, Brazil. Written by fifteen authors from four countries and several Brazilian states, the works in this issue address the applications of digital technologies and their implications for urban dynamics and the design and production of architecture, from an analytical point of view from the Global South.

V!29 brings together nine articles and essays and the interview “The Technocene and the Reestablishment of a Horizon of Urgency” with Professor Henrique Parra, from the Department of Social Sciences at the Federal University of Sao Paulo. The articles are authored by sixteen researchers from four different countries and several Brazilian states, discussing the conceptual, social, political, and technopolitical aspects of the spread of digital technology worldwide, particularly among the peoples of the Global South.

We hope these two new editions will contribute to the academic debate in our areas and the excellence of teaching, research, culture, and university extension in our institutions.
